School Counseling Program Mission
The mission of the San Jose Elementary Counseling Department is to provide a data driven comprehensive school counseling program, which supports all students across academic, social- emotional, and college and career domains. The school counseling department will actively seek opportunities to advocate and promote a positive school climate, which will foster equity for all students. This will be accomplished through school-wide activities, classroom lessons, small group instruction, individual counseling, and referrals for students in need of additional support. In partnership with parents, other teachers and administrators, and collaboration with the local community, the school counseling department will advocate for an equitable school environment, which will develop self- empowered students who have the ability to appreciate diversity, demonstrate social responsibility, achieve their goals, and strive for life-long learning.

School Counseling Program Vision

The San Jose Elementary school counseling program will prepare all students with the skills necessary to reach academic success, social emotional growth, and college and career readiness. Through the use of a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program and in collaboration with the school, all students will be inspired to reach their highest  potential and gain the tools necessary to become socially responsible, high achieving, life-long learners. Students will be empowered by their self-worth, show empathy and compassion, and remain resilient in an ever-changing world.
